Flies Tied By Henri Lemieux in September, 2004

Henri Lemieux is a long time member of the HAFFT and a master fly tyer. Henri is known for his patience in teaching and expertly crafted flies. These soft-hackled flies were tied on September 27 of 2004.

Pheasant Tail Soft Hackle

Hook: Dry Fly (e.g., Mustad 84840 or 84833) sizes 12 to 16.

Thread : Brown 6/0

Body: Rooster pheasant tail fiber

Rib: Medium copper wire

Hackle: well-marked, brown or gray Hungarian partridge feather

Tup's Indispensable Soft Hackle

Hook: Dry Fly (e.g., Mustad 84840 or 84833) sizes 12 to 16

Thread: Yellow

Rib: None

Body: Yellow thread or floss and then light pink fur

Hackle: Blue dun hen hackle

(Originally the fur was from a rather unmentionable source on the ram)

Partridge and Orange and Fur Soft Hackle

Hook: Dry Fly (e.g., Mustad 84840 or 84833) sizes 12 to 16

Thread : Orange 6/0

Body: Orange thread or floss and then dark brown hare's ear

Hackle: Well-marked, brown Hungarian partridge feather

Starling and Herl Soft Hackle

Hook: Dry Fly (e.g., Mustad 84840 or 84833) sizes 12 to 16

Thread : Black 6/0

Body: Peacock herl

Hackle: Small covert hackle from a starling's wing.
