 Meeting Format
Meeings run on second and fourth Mondays of each month from September to the end of May. The first meeting of the month is a general meeting consisting of a club member or guest presenting a topic of interest other than fly tying. This may be a slide presentation, a special fishing technique or a lesson in entomology. The second meeting of each month is a hands-on fly tying event. A club member or guest will demonstrate an individual pattern or technique. We supply all tools and materials for beginners at our beginner's table.

Location

Meetings are held at the Sherwood Public Library in room AB in the basement. The library is at 467 Upper Ottawa Street, just north of Fennel. The meeting room opens at 7:00pm and meetings begin with announcements shortly after. The scheduled program starts at 7:30pm. Meetings end at 10:00pm.

Conservation

Having established a conservation program shortly after forming, HAFFT quickly developed a reputation for energetic volunteer-based activities. Working with agencies such as the Hamilton-Wentworth Conservation Authority, Ministry of Natural Resources, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Credit River Conservation Authority and the Grand River Conservation Authority, HAFFT members have participated projects ranging from stream-side litter pickup to tree planting. Members have stocked Atlantic Salmon from fry to adult. They have transferred Brook Trout by electro-shocking and they have worked on hundreds of meters of streambed to clear feeder springs and narrow channels to aid in lowering water temperatures.
An agreement formed between Private Landowners and HAFFT, with the Hamilton-Wentworth Conservation Authority as a supervising agency, is being used as a model for similar co-operations.
